Drilling is required for installation when mounting the base; however, the base and tower are attached by a single bolt and the connection is isolated by polyurethane bushings. This allows for a robust connection that will pivot to accommodate curved and angled roof surfaces, and also allow easy removal of the platform by simply removing one bolt per tower. The base stays attached so that the drilled holes in the mounting surface remain sealed.
